Climbing Aloevera

Genus Aloiampelos

Climbing Aloe (Genus Aloiampelos), previously classified under the genus Aloe, is a group of climbing or scrambling succulents native to southern Africa. These plants are known for their long, slender stems that can grow over shrubs and rocks, often supported by their surroundings. Unlike typical rosette-forming aloes, climbing aloes are characterized by their trailing or sprawling growth habit. Their fleshy leaves are similar to those of other aloes, featuring spines along the edges, and they produce tubular, reddish-orange flowers that attract pollinators like bees and birds. Climbing Aloes thrive in well-drained soils and are drought-tolerant, making them suitable for xeriscaping and low-water gardens. They prefer full sun and can be grown in containers or allowed to sprawl naturally in the landscape. These plants add a unique, vertical element to gardens and are appreciated for their resilience and striking floral displays.
