Sustainable Room Amenities

Ribbons on towels

In the rooms there are many different types of towels available to the guests, including a bath towel, hand towel and face towel. These towels are folded and wrapped in ribbons. Therefore, when the ribbon is still on the towels, the room attendant knows the guest did not touch the towel. This allows for less laundry to be done daily, which overall decreases the amount of water needed daily.

Bins for separating waste

Within each room, there is a bin with waste separation. There is a section for organic waste and non-organic waste. This will be collected separately by the room attendants and then later will be separated even further into even more different waste categories. Furthermore, this also allows the guests to practice separating their own waste when staying at the hotel.

Refillable bottled water and reusable bottled milk

Within the room, there are bottled water and milk available to the guests. These are bottled within the hotel to reduce the carbon footprint of transportation. Additionally, the bottles used are made of glass, allowing for a decrease in the need for plastic.

Low-flow fittings

All fittings throughout the building are “low-flow” allowing the same functionality but saving water by aerating it and limiting the maximum pressure.

Dual flush toilets

All toilets are dual flush, allowing users to flush using only the amount of water required. Furthermore the water used in the toilet is grey water used from the showers to reduce the amount of water used daily.

Eco-friendly amenities

Hotel Verde’s use of sulfate-free, eco-friendly amenities reduces its environmental impact by minimising water pollution and protecting aquatic life. These products are made from biodegradable, plant-based ingredients, which break down easily in nature and have a smaller carbon footprint than petroleum-based sulfates. By offering sustainable alternatives, Hotel Verde aligns its practices with its commitment to sustainability, ensuring guests enjoy environmentally responsible amenities while supporting cleaner ecosystems.

Recycled stationery

Within the room, the products provided to the guests are compostable. For example, the boxes of vanity kits and shower caps are made from recycled cardboard, and the lotion bottles are given to the guests. As well as the bathroom products, the pencil and notepads are made from recycled products, overall decreasing the hotel’s carbon footprint.

Water-saving laundry

The laundry within the hotel works on recycled water, which is cleaned and filtered to do guest’s laundry as well as and other laundry required by the hotel.

Dispensers

En suite bathrooms have dispensers within the shower and next to the sink, which are made from recycled products and are simply refilled, meaning there is no need for small shower products which are found in hotels and then thrown away.

Power isolation switch / key card system

Our bedrooms, offices and meeting rooms operate on a key card system. The user is required to insert a key card into the key card reader at the door in order to turn on power to the room and use the lighting, plug points and air conditioning. Conversely when the key card is removed the power to the room is cut preventing unnecessary electricity usage. Certain vital plug points however remain live for things such as refrigerators as well as one plug point at the desk in order for our guests to leave personal appliances on charge whilst away from their room.

Windows

Double-glazed windows with spectrally selected glass filter out hot rays and noise. Decreasing the requirement for the cooling systems to be used.
