A Geothermal System Beneath Your Feet


One of Hotel Verde's most impressive sustainability innovations lies underground.


Beneath the property sits a geothermal field consisting of approximately 100 boreholes, each extending around 65 metres into the earth. Working alongside ground-source heat pumps, this system uses the earth's naturally stable underground temperature to provide highly efficient heating and cooling throughout the hotel.


The result is year-round guest comfort with significantly lower energy consumption than conventional systems.


Using Energy Only When It's Needed


Heating and cooling are among the largest energy demands in any hotel. Hotel Verde's intelligent HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems are designed to minimise waste while maintaining comfort.


Occupancy sensors, key-card activated controls, demand-controlled ventilation, and strategic zoning help ensure energy is only used where and when it is needed. Empty rooms consume less energy, while occupied spaces remain comfortable and welcoming.

An Intelligent Management System


At the heart of Hotel Verde's operations is an advanced Building Management System (BMS) that continuously monitors and coordinates key building functions, including heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, and energy consumption.


By analysing performance in real time, the system helps identify inefficiencies and optimise operations, ensuring the hotel consistently delivers both sustainability and guest comfort.

Regenerative Elevators


Most elevators consume energy. Hotel Verde's regenerative drive elevators help recover it. As the elevators operate, energy that would typically be lost is captured and fed back into the building's electrical system for reuse elsewhere. It's a simple but effective way to reduce overall electricity demand while maintaining smooth and efficient operation.


High-Performance Insulation


Not every sustainability innovation relies on advanced technology.


High-performance insulation, insulated doors, double-glazed windows, and spectrally selective glazing help maintain stable indoor temperatures while reducing the workload on heating and cooling systems.
